    TEXT: JOHN 5:1-15

The things we say to make us feel GOOD about being BAD are called EXCUSES !

When we have made an excuse we are already in the place of SIN!

Excuses are a TRAP the devil uses to get us to miss God's best work in our life!

Excuses are the devil's CRUTCH to keep us from  SPIRITUAL POWER !

If satan can't keep us UNSAVED he will do his best to keep us from being VICTORIOUS ! Wants us to LIMP through life making excuses!

For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse ... ROM. 1:20

    • HUMAN EXCUSES are INEXCUSABLE FOR NOT BELIEVING A GOD THAT CREATED ALL THINGS AND HOLDS ALL THINGS TOGETHER!

    • HUMAN EXCUSES are INEXCUSABLE FOR NOT COOPERATING WITH A GOD WHO GAVE US JESUS!

    • HUMAN EXCUSES are INEXCUSABLE FOR BEING SAVED BUT NOT LIVING CHANGED!

    TEXT: 1SAMUEL 16:1-13

The inconvenience of our ANOINTING by the HOLY SPIRIT God anoints us with the HOLY SPIRIT to EMPOWER us in our HUMANNESS to BE HIS HOLINESS!
... but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, Be holy, for I am holy." 1PET. 1:16

All of the things David was able to DO FOR the Kingdom came out of WHO GOD ANOINTED DAVID TO BE IN the Kingdom!

    I have provided MYSELF a king ... 1SAM. 16:1

ROYALY is our divine, God chosen IDENTITY
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you ...  1PET. 2:9

I am what I am BY THE GRACE OF GOD!  1COR. 15:10

      • Anointing required David to give up where he was SUCCESSFUL to be more spiritual!
      • Anointing means RESPONDING to where God is at work & getting involved there!
      • Anointing is God's SEAL of APPROVAL! So don't let what somebody else thinks about you keep you from what God calls you to!
      • Anointing EMPOWERS us for the purpose of God's PLEASURE & the other PERSON!

    TEXT: MARK 16:1-18

    1. Jesus' resurrection was more than just a way to get His body out of a tomb. It was God's way for us to see living PROOF of this great and glorious TRUTH that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  ROM. 6:4

    2. Jesus didn't come out of the grave BLOODYBRUISED, WOUNDED, living on DEFENSE or in RECOVERY MODE! He CAME OUT VICTORIOUS, alive evermore. Amen. And I have the keys of hell and death. REV. 1:16

Living raised like Christ means fully embracing INCONVENIENT CHRISTIANITY!

    3. Some days it would be more convenient to live MY LIFE instead of for me to live is Christ and to die is gain.  PHIL. 1:21

    4. We don't get to conveniently live like Jesus is dead but then expect the ANOINTING to happen on Sunday!

    5. We don't get to be amazed at the greatness of God's power but be silent about the REALITY OF HELL!

    6. The sins of our past must not define us ... true worship of our Lord must describe us!

    7. When faith gets hard we "stay in the story" instead of conveniently walking away!

    8. Hard hearts & unbelief get replaced with trusting the "long view" of God's plan!

    Sermon Text: Matthew 26:36-56

The Christian's call to follow Jesus is a 3D call to:
    1. ______ the temptation to make life about ___________.
    2. Take up the task of _________ to __________.
    3. Embrace the fact of an _____________ ____________.

Jesus was always going on the least convenient routes... think the woman at the well... I have to pass through Samaria - John 4:4

Jesus was alway taking longer than what was convenient... see Mary, Martha, and Lazarus - John 11

Jesus would inconveniently allow storms to show up and sleep through most of it - Matthew 8:23

Jesus allowed John the Baptist to stay in prison and be beheaded - Matthew 11:3

The inconveniences of earth are really _____________ from heaven.

Check and see if God is just a convenience in your life:
    • I rarely go out of my way for Him and His greatest desires.
    • What breaks His heart hardly moves mine.
    • The things He calls me to are more like suggestions.
    • My comfort is more important than His call.
    • He has to ask over and over for the same things from me.

Inconvenient Christianity means I put in it's place anything that _____________________ with God's mission of redemption.

Inconvenient Christianity happens when we live in awe of the _________________ __________________ of Jesus Christ.

Inconvenient Christianity must be our reality because God's plans are designed to be fulfilled in the believer's willingness to live them.

Sermon Text: John 8:59-9:1-5; John 9:19-23

    • Not cooperating with God in the moment can mean missing divine, life-changing moments.
    • God's higher cause must be radically embraced now because time waits for no one.
      • Jesus never settled for the sedative of satisfaction
    • As long as I am here I can be the difference in the here and now.
    • Now is not a time for us to be afraid because conflict is a time when God's glory is seen the best.
