Our leadership team recognized the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip all believers for the work of ministry until we all attain the fullness of Christ.
Barry Raley, Senior Pastor
As the primary teaching pastor, Pastor Barry has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He has served as Senior Pastor since 2009. He and his wife have two children and one grandson. Prior to his time as New Friendship’s pastor, Pastor Barry served as a police officer for the Bowling Green Police Department for 20 years. Barry is passionate about seeing people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and desires to be a part of training up saints to do the work of ministry for Christ. Pastor Barry’s door is always open and look forward to investing in each member of this local faith family.

Alex Watkins, Pastor of Worship & Missions
Pastor Alex serves as New Friendship’s Pastor of Worship and Missions. He leads every Sunday with the aim of Christ as the focal point of the gathering. Alex has served at New Friendship since 2011. He leads from either the acoustic guitar or the piano. Alex heads up the Worship Choir and Worship Band and is over the music department at New Friendship. Alex is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University. He and his wife Meghan have two sons and one daughter – Jude, Samuel, and Naomi. Meghan serves in a variety of ways at NFBC.

Jacob Mudd, Pastor of Students & Missions

Pastor Mudd serves as New Friendship’s Pastor of Students and Missions. He leads an expository student ministry with the task of equipping students to share their faith in every situatijon. He has one vision for NFStudents: To glorify God by teaching them how to love Him with all of their heart, soul, and mind. Pastor Mudd has served as Pastor of Students and Missions at New Friendship since July of 2019. Before that, he served as both Interim Youth Minister and Ministry Assistant at NFBC. Pastor Mud regards his time as a summer staffer at Crossings Ministries as a learning experience that could never be duplicated. Pastor Mudd is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Western Kentucky University. Pastor Mudd’s heart for missions is in-keeping with one of his favorite books, Let the Nations Be Glad, by John Piper. He and his Finacé, Morgan, plan to marry June 20, 2020.

Patty Slaton, Children’s Ministry Director
Patty serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at NFBC. She oversees all things kids. Patty started in this roll in 2020.
 Patty states: “I am passionate about the relationship of our church with families and children.  We are charged, through Christ, with the disciplining of everyone and God has laid on my heart this special call to ministry. My growth in Christ, and His love and commitment to me, continues to amaze me daily. He draws me closer each day and as it is revealed to me, I see His path for me more clearly every day. In answering His call to me for full time missions I am committed to follow Him and take the time and pace that is laid out before me by God.” Patty and her husband have two daughters and four grandchildren. They have had the honor and blessing of providing full time love and care since birth to their eldest two grandchildren, Zachary and Jesse and are currently active in raising their granddaughter Annslee.

Janice Harper, Church Administration
Janice serves as our church’s administrative assistant. She oversees all of the day-to-day operations of New Friendship. Janice has served at New Friendship since 2010. Prior to her work at NFBC, Janice served in the Simpson County School District. She and her husband Ben have two children and one granddaughter.

Ken Campbell, Deacon Chairman
Jeff serves as the Deacon Chairman for the 2020 calendar year. Ken and his wife Melissa serve throughout New Friendship in a variety of ways.

Bonnie Hale, Awana Director
Bonnie serves as NFBC’s Awana Director. Bonnie is instrumental to our kids ministry and Awana. She saw the need for Awana several years ago, and has helped lead our faith family in serving the kids of our community in a variety of ways. Bonnie and her husband Greg, and their daughter, serve faithfully in many areas of ministry at NFBC.

Eric Rogers, Sunday School Director
Eric serves as the Sunday School and Small Groups director for NFBC. He oversees all content that is taught within each class. Eric and his wife Gina serve in a variety of areas around NFBC. Eric and Gina have two daughter.

Caleb Speck, Senior Adult Director
Caleb serves as our Senior Adult Director and in the worship ministry at NFBC.

Elaine serves within the Music and Worship department at NFBC. Elaine is the accompanist for the Worship Choir, and also serves as a pianist on Sundays.
