Awana is a weekly ministry which provides a fun environment for children ages 2-12 (Pre-K through 5th Grade) to learn God’s Word. Each week, Awana provides teaching and training to develop strong moral and spiritual values, helping ‘clubbers’ learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible. Awana meets from August through May on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Our vision is for children learn to know, love and serve Jesus Christ! Registration is ongoing and kids are accepted throughout the year. Each night of AWANA a meal will be provided for all clubbers.

All Awana parents/guardians are requested to serve in some capacity. Your weekly commitment makes Awana run with excellence.  The best volunteer for your child is a volunteer who is present each week.

  • Puggles: 2 years
  • Cubbies: 3-4 years
  • Sparks K: Kindergarten
  • Sparks 1 & 2: Grades 1-2
  • Truth and Training (T&T): Grades 3-5

A typical night at Awana is broken down into 3 segments:

Game Time – A key principle of Awana is that Awana is exciting and FUN!  Every Awana meeting involves high-energy, active games with lots of team competition to foster community and unleash clubbers’ natural enthusiasm.

Handbook Time – Using achievement-oriented learning segments, Awana handbooks emphasize the importance of God’s Word in knowing Him, living according to His Word, and standing for the Gospel. Clubbers meet individually and in small groups with their class leaders to discuss what they learn in their handbook lessons and to recite the verses they’ve memorized. Clubbers are challenged to memorize different Bible verses each week.

Large Group Time –  involves group Bible study that is tailored to the ages of the clubbers and supports the lessons they learn in their handbooks.

Additionally, special theme nights throughout the year cultivate a spirit of fun and community, and clubbers are encouraged to invite their friends.

Where Do I Go?
Enter in the Sanctuary’s main front doors each Wednesday night. For kids in preschool, parents/guardians are required to check their children in. Please do so at the check-in station beside the NFBC Office, located on the first floor.
Kids should sit with their Awana classes upon entry into the sanctuary.
